The Rightwing Tsunami in Europe

Updated: Jun 12

June of 2024 will be known as a month when a major political shift happened in Europe. Since the end of the 2nd world War, Europe has been sheltered by America's military might and has relied on Britain and Germany to keep themselves afloat economically. Due to demographic decline, the German economy has staggered in the past few years. We've seen Greece and other Southern European nations descend into financial black holes, and now the UK is out. In short, the European social contract is null and void, and the people across the continent are turning to more rightwing leaders to help navigate a changing world, a more hostile Russia, and the chaos of mass migration.

In Germany, the AFD, the conservative party, has risen to be the 2nd largest party in the country. They have beaten the SPD, which Olaf Scholz leads. Alice Weidel, leading the AFD, has won the votes of young Germans and any other group of Germans who have lost confidence in the German government and its far-left policies. It is also worth noting that Germans across the spectrum are fed up with mass migration and the crime it brings with it. Just like in the UK, the election is based on the issue of mass migration.

In France, the left is rioting in opposition to the rightwing victory led by Marine Le Pen. The current president, Emmanuel Macron, is calling for snap national elections to try and fight back against the French right wing. In Italy, Prime Minister Meloni has won over 28% of the national vote for the EU assembly. Across Europe, Pro-migrant, pro-green parties and candidates are on the back foot.

The people of the European Union have had enough of the leftist insanity, enough of the mass migration of people who hate the West, and enough of green policies that are like a wet blanket over our economies. Young and old are voting for rightwing parties. Europe as a whole is now feeling what many Americans are feeling: fatigue for leftist insanity, and people want to go back to common sense.
